Hayseed Dixie return for Glasto warm-up

Click to enlarge imageFor anyone who missed out on the recent sell-out show with the Kings of Rockgrass Hayseed Dixie in Falmouth, they will be back on June 26th at the Walkabout in Newquay. The show is a warm up for their upcoming appearance the following day on the Shangri La stage at Glastonbury festival.

Their recent 'No Covers Tour' where they played their trademark covers of iconic tracks by artists such as AC/DC, alongside their own self-penned material was an opportunity for them to get back out on the road and do what they love the best.

With a reputation as hard drinking, hard living rockers, their shows are a display of serious musicianship interspersed with banter and rock and roll stories from the Hayseed Dixie experience of touring the world.

As Barley Scotch of the band says "We ain't even started drinking yet. We've just been on a recon mission so far. Now we know where the party people around the world are, and we're coming back to close the deal."

Their album "No Covers" tells stories of the people they've met along the way, including an arms dealer on an aeroplane who inspired the creation of the song "Bouncing Betty Boogie". The album also sees the band use drums on some of the tracks, in a change of direction from their previous acoustic set up. With tongues firmly in cheeks, the album surely has to be the only one around this century likely to feature a track called "Donkeys in Morocco".

Support will come from Newquay's very own Blue Devil Circus, a boogie-woogie blues three piece who have supported Ash Grunwuld. despite only being around for a short time.

Tickets are available from www.seetickets.com 0871 2200260, the Buzz Bar in Newquay, and Sneaky Peanut in Truro and Falmouth, priced at £14 subject to booking fees. Over 18s only.
